28: Bat For Lashes
On July 1st of this year, the highly anticipated fourth album from Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes graced our ears.
Noticeably more stripped back than her previous work, The Bride (released by Parlophone) follows the tale of a distraught lover who’s fiance died in a car crash on the way to the alter. Dramatic and cinematic; the tragic story weaves its way hauntingly through each track with an effortlessness that Khan naturally possesses.
From the somewhat lively tempo of ‘Sunday Love‘ to the mournful lull of both ‘In God’s House’ and ‘Close Encounters’, The Bride is a fine example of emotive storytelling told through music.
