29: Esperanza Spalding

From Esperanza Spalding’s beautifully self-penned album, Emily’s D+Evolution (released in 2016 by Concord Records), ‘Unconditional Love’ soothes and uplifts with Spalding’s whimsical vocal, dreamy guitar and elegant theatrical deliverance.

A multifaceted musician (double bass, guitar, cello – there’s more), singer (think Joni Mitchell with a prescription of funk) and songwriter, it’s easy to see how at only 31 she already has four Grammys under her belt.
